Maria Morris Hambourg is a photographer, writer, independent curator, and consultant. As the founding curator of the Department of Photographs at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, she helped to build an audience for photography through exhibitions and catalogues of works by Richard Avedon, Nadar, and many more.
